There’s a dramatic difference in the powertrain for both of these vehicles, but they have their own unique advantages. With the traditional gas engine Carnival you’ll have a 3.5L V6 engine that achieves 287-hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. This provides plenty of muscle for towing a boat out to Sabine Lake or towing a small camper with the 3,500-lb. maximum towing capacity1 and it also has an estimated 18/25 MPG city/hwy2. The Carnival Hybrid uses a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a Full Parallel Hybrid System to achieve 242 net horsepower and 271 lb.-ft. of torque. The strength for this powertrain is efficiency, rated at 34/31 MPG city/hwy2 but it does offer light trailering options with 1,000-lb. maximum towing without trailer brakes1 or up to 2,500-lb. maximum towing capacity with trailer brakes1.
Interior Features and Benefits
With the cabin of the 2026 Carnival and Carnival Hybrid you’ll actually find many similarities. They both feature three rows of seating with either 7- or 8-passenger maximum capacity for convenient family travel to Collier’s Ferry Park and identical cargo space amounts at 40.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row and up to 145.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. You can upgrade the interiors with luxurious amenities such as heated and ventilated front seats, second-row Lounge Seats, dual sunroofs, and leather upholstery. What makes them different is the way the features are included amongst the trim levels.

When it comes to trim levels and pricing, there are some factors to consider with the 2026 Carnival and the 2026 Carnival Hybrid. The Carnival has more trim levels at five compared to four total for the Carnival Hybrid. Taking into account the lowest and highest trim levels of the Carnival, it’s also more affordable with pricing compared to the Carnival Hybrid.
